For this body of work, I am inspired and deeply moved by aerial photographs of ice melt in Alaska, Canada, Greenland, and Iceland. I find drone photography of Arctic landscapes to be both hauntingly beautiful and increasingly urgent; it exemplifies a detached voyeurism that also carries a sense of abstraction. Sea level rise alone will prompt all of us to reevaluate our interpretation of home. Through the process of layering collage and veiling with paint, I encourage us to look deeper at our heavy footprint on the land.
